The Road So Far

PreviousWhy Navigate Was FoundedNextWhere We Are Now

Last updated 11 months ago

Navigate launched in 2022 after raising a of $7.625 million, with the mission to enable people to earn from valuable data and advance AI applications with that data.

During this initial phase of the project, we focused on collecting and improving geospatial datasets captured from users with drones and dashcams around the world.

During this time, Navigate minted its token supply on Polygon and rewarded tokens (which were and remain non-transferrable outside of the Navigate project) and points to users who contributed geospatial data to the platform. The NVG8 tokens were used to redeem other rewards from the Navigate Marketplace, such as gift cards.

After building out a lot of the infrastructure we needed to collect different types of data, we set out on the next phase of the project: opening the Navigate platform to new datasets and insights from contributors to accelerate AI models.

Navigate's goal has always been to be a data platform that supercharges AI innovation by rewarding users for contributing data. And with the recent emergence of LLMs, we knew the need for vast amounts of high-quality AI training data would only increase!

Thus, the road to Data Quest began.
